When I was running my own business, keeping track of everything including income, expenses, claims and receipts was a constant headache. It was one of those things that always got pushed to the bottom of the list until it absolutely had to be dealt with, usually right before a quarterly accountant meeting.

When I started talking to family members who had their own businesses, I realised it wasn't just me. Everyone felt the same way. Too much time spent trying to figure out spreadsheets, too much stress trying to remember what was what, and too much money spent on tools that took longer to learn than the actual bookkeeping itself.

So I decided to build something different. Something I wish I had back then. A tool designed to fit around your working day. Log what you spent or earned, snap a receipt, and move on. When your quarterly meeting comes around, everything is already there waiting for you.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using MyBookkeeping, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

MyBookkeeping is a mobile bookkeeping application that allows users to log income, expenses and claims, store receipts, and export financial records. The service is provided on a subscription basis at $49.99 per month following a 7-day free trial.

3. Subscription and Billing

Your subscription begins with a 7-day free trial. No payment is taken during the trial period. After the trial ends your payment method will be charged $49.99 per month automatically. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends and you will not be charged. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to use MyBookkeeping only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter into the application.

5. Data and Privacy

Your financial data and receipts are stored securely in the cloud. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except as required to provide the service (such as payment processing through Stripe). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Disclaimer

MyBookkeeping is a bookkeeping tool and does not provide accounting, tax or legal advice. You should consult a qualified accountant or financial advisor for professional guidance. We are not liable for any financial decisions made based on information recorded in the application.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, business details) and information you enter while using the app (transactions, receipts, categories and notes). We also collect basic usage data to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide and improve the MyBookkeeping service. This includes storing your financial records, processing your subscription payments, and sending you service-related emails such as payment receipts and trial reminders.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Receipt photos are stored in private cloud storage and are only accessible by you. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment processing. You can view Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with service providers necessary to operate the application (Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payments).
